New Halo Triton Starter Kit Review - Awesome or Not?

As I mentioned two weeks ago, we were conducting a detailed review of the Halo Triton starter kit. Well, the review process is now complete, and I'm happy to report that the final results are in! :)

Disclosure: We bought the Halo Triton starter kit at full price. Halo Cigs did not ask us to review it, nor did they offer us any money to do so.

For our full Halo Triton review, read on...

Halo Triton Starter Kit Review - Awesome or Not?

The Halo Triton Starter Kit (a.k.a., the Halo Triton Tank System) is perfect for anyone looking for superior vaping performance, extreme vapor production, top-notch quality, and batteries that last and last and last!

The Halo Triton Starter Kit is the latest e-cig product from Halo Cigs (one of the most respected and trusted names in the entire e-cig industry) and comes with everything you need to start vaping (like a pro) immediately.

The Halo Triton Starter Kit (featured in the Iridescence color)

What Comes In The Halo Triton Starter Kit

The Halo Triton starter kit comes with the following:

2 manual batteries (your choice of 650 mAh or 400 mAh for each battery)
2 Crystal Clear Triton Tanks (clearomizers) - Top coil design - they hold 2.4 ml of e-liquid
1 Large Triton Cone (35mm - in matching color)
1 USB Adapter and Charger
1 Wall Charger
1 Halo Case (e-cigarette carry case)
1 Halo Cigs Warranty - 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: The Halo G6 cartridges are fully compatible with the Triton. So if you have any G6 cartridges, you can definitely vape them with the Triton. :)

Additionally, the Triton is also fully compatible with all 808 connection cartomizers and cartridges. :)

Product Highlights - Halo Triton Starter Kit

We've been so impressed by the Halo Triton starter kit that we've actually decided to add a brand new section to our e-cig reviews (i.e., this section - "Product Highlights").

Yeah, so here are some of the highlights - the things we liked most about the Triton...

Extremely awesome vapor production and throat hit
Long-lasting batteries (batteries have lasted several days!)
Gorgeous design elements. The kit is extremely beautiful and stunning.
Matching LED light color (the LED button light matches the battery color when pressed!)
High-quality case (fully padded, very sturdy, very portable and definitely quite eye-catching)
Awesome tanks (clearomizers) - So easy to refill, and no leaking at all!

Vapor Production and Performance

OK, so where should we start? First of all, Halo Cigs is widely known for their superior quality e-liquids (the favortie of many pro vapers, btw), and when paired with the Halo Triton starter kit, it's pure vaping bliss. :)

In other words, vapor production of the Halo Triton is downright awesome. It produces a killer amount of vapor, as well as an awesome throat hit. Additionally, the draw (when you inhale) is absolutely perfect. It's not too tight, or too loose. It's just perfect.

When all is said and done, the Halo Triton is most certainly in a class all its own. In fact, we've never been so impressed by an e-cig device before. So yeah, no surprise that we vape with it exclusively now. ;)

Halo Cigs e-liquids used during testing: We vaped on Halo's SubZero and Cafe Mocha flavors. Both e-liquid flavors were of the 18 mg/ml nicotine strength option.

Halo Triton Starter Kit - Battery Options

The Triton Starter Kit gives you several options when it comes to which color batteries you want with your e-cig kit. You can also choose your battery strength.  Here's a quick rundown of the Triton battery color options...

• Battery Colors: Jet Black, Iridescence, Yellow Jacket, Electric Lime, Emerald Green, Deep Purple, Princess Pink, Titanium, Midnight Blue, Demon Red and Mocha
• Battery Capacity: 650 mAh or 400 mAh (your choice)
• Battery Type: Manual battery (2 batteries included)
• Battery Voltage: 3.3 - 4.2 volts

Battery Performance

The Halo Triton batteries are awesome, to say the least. They just last and last and last. Expect them to last you more than a day, even with heavy vaping.

To give you a good idea of how well these Triton batteries last, we've continuously gotten more than a full day out of them before they needed to be recharged. For comparison sake, we used to smoke a full pack a day of regular analog cigarettes (KOOL menthol, to be exact). So while your vaping mileage may vary a bit, that should give you a good idea.

So yeah, you can definitely vape all day long (and well into the next day!) with these batteries. Honestly, we were extremely surprised by how long they lasted, expecting them them to run out by the end of the day. But we were wrong! We actually got somewhere around two (2) days of vaping from each Triton battery, which is pretty damn amazing. :)

NOTE: We chose the 650 mAh Iridescence batteries for our Triton starter kit, and noticed no degradation in battery power. The batteries fired up like a champ (constantly) from start to finish, until they finally needed to be recharged (in our case, after about 2 days of constant vaping use).

Without question, these are the longest lasting batteries we've come across thus far. So if battery performance is your thing, then you'll definitely want to check out the Halo Triton.

The only downside is the lack of forewarning before the battery needs to be recharged. It's the one and only thing we'd like to see improved upon, as it'd be nice to know in advance when the battery is on the low side. Other than that, the Halo Triton is perfect. :)

Halo Triton Chargers Included

The Triton starter kit comes with two different battery chargers: the Mini Wall Charger and the USB Charger and Adapter (both pictured below). Note that the Mini Auto Charger is also available as an accessory.

Both Triton chargers work great and charge super fast (in about an hour and a half). The Mini Wall Charger is obviously for charging via standard wall outlets, and the USB Charger is for charging via USB ports.

I especially like the USB charger, since it allows you to charge your batteries by plugging them into any standard USB port (like your laptop, desktop computer, PS3, Xbox, etc.).

The Halo Triton USB charger has an indicator light that lets you know when it's fully charged. Once the indicator light on the USB charger turns from red to blue, you're good to go! When charging via the wall charger, it's the same thing - fully charged when the indicator light turns blue.

Halo Triton Tanks (Clearomizers)

The Halo Triton Tanks (clearomizers) are designed to maximize your vaping experience, and they really do. They offer a 2.4 ml capacity, and are extremely easy to refill. No muss, no fuss!

In addition, the Triton Tanks are specifically designed to prevent leakage, and we can personally attest to that. After using them for quite some time now, we've yet to experience any leaking whatsoever.

Honestly, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better clearomizer on the market right now. These clearomizers simply rock! :)

Note: The Triton starter kit comes with two (2) Crystal Clear Tanks (clearomizers). The "colored" Triton Tanks are also available, though you have to order them separately.

Overall Impressions of the Halo Triton Starter Kit

If we had to sum up the Halo Triton starter kit in just one word, it would definitely be..."Wow!" In just a few words? Then probably something like "Holy freakin' wow!" :P

As experienced vapers, we've never been so impressed overall. The Triton's vapor production is downright amazing, the batteries last forever, and the Triton Tanks (clearomizers) are absolutely perfect. They're so simple to refill, and give you some of the best flavor quality you could imagine.

We could go on and on about how awesome the Triton is, but we don't want to waste any more of your time. Just check it out and you'll see what we mean.

Halo Triton Review - Conclusion

After spending a lot of time using my Halo Triton starter kit, we can definitely say that it's in a class all its own. It's beautiful, amazing, poetic, stunning and killer. So yeah, it's the best damn e-cig starter kit out there. :)

Here's a quick review rundown:

Vapor production: Extremely excellent. Very thick vapor & awesome flavor.
Appearance: Downright stunning. The Halo Triton is damn beautiful.
Product quality: Extremely excellent. Everything is of superior quality.
Battery life & performance: Extremely excellent. Battery life is amazing - far better than most (if not all) others.
Halo Triton Tanks (clearomizers): Definitely awesome. Great flavor and no leaking at all.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a spectacular e-cigarette - one that's definitely a cut above the rest - then be sure to check out the Halo Triton starter kit. Trust me, you'll be damn glad that you did.

We honestly can't say enough good things about it, and we're 100% sure that this is one personal vaping device that we'll be writing about and praising for a long, long time to come. It truly is "that" awesome.

You can check out the Halo Triton starter kit here.

Happy vaping!

  1. This is by far the best ecig going IMHO. Got mine about a month ago..so glad I did. It kicks ass more than you know.

I've used several ecigs before, particularly Joytech (eVic, eGo-C and eGo-T Tank System). But the Triton is by far my favorite. So yeah.

    1. Totally agree, Corey. Glad you're enjoying it so much! The Halo Triton is nothing short of amazing, which is why we love it so much! :)

      Shine on,
      Full Vapor

  2. I got my halo Triton kit about three weeks ago. If it weren't for your review I probably wouldn't have even known about it! It freakin kicks ass, and I get compliments on it all the time! Makes me happy. :D

Guess I kinda owe that to you. So yeah, keep giving us vapers the important info we need...it benefits all of us. Got you bookmarked and am so glad I found your esite.

    Emily (the Queen of Vaping)

    1. Thanks Emily! I'm just happy to help. I'm also glad that you're enjoying your Halo Triton. It's my personal fav, and I'm glad you like it so much. :)

      Happy vaping!

  3. I ordered one but its not here yet its only been a couple days but after all this reading I'm like a kid before Xmas I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Glad to hear, Trout! Mine only took three days to arrive via regular US postal mail. Glad you're excited. You're gonna love the Halo Triton. :)

  4. Got one on its way I'm like a kid before Xmas haha !!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Awesome. I was that way too. And I STILL think it's one of the best things I ever bought myself. :)

If you happen to see this reply...come back and comment to let me know how you're doing with your Triton.

      Happy vaping!

  5. can you use the triton clearomizers with an ego battery?

    1. Hi Kane. I replied to your comment but just noticed today that I didn't do it via the reply button, which would've actually let you know there was a reply.

Anyway, my original reply is below...

  6. Hi Kane, thanks for the question.

The Halo Triton battery is 808 and vGo threaded, with the 808 threading on top (for the USB charger) and the vGo style thread below (for the battery). The Triton tanks (clearomizers) are basically like the Kanger T2 clearomizers in shape and style, and use the vGo type threads.

So no, the Triton clearomizers aren't compatible with an eGo battery. And as far as I know, there aren't any adapters or converters on the market yet.

Best thing to do is pick up a Triton starter kit (which is killer awesome) or just stick with the eGo and get an eGo clearomizer.

    Happy vaping!

  7. I was on the fence between the Halo system or the Apollo starter kit and this review has put me firmly in my place. Can't wait to order my Halo starter kit.

    1. Hi Adam,

Glad you found it helpful! Feel free to come back and let us know how you're doing with your Halo Triton. I know I love mine! :)

  8. had my triton for about 2 weeks now. i never came accross your reveiw untill today, since i was searching what thread it uses besides the 808 on top. brought me to this page witch gave me the info i needed. Vgo instead of Ego. good to know info. good review also. i love this setup. its pretty much as easy to use as one of the cigarette looking devices. just plug and play.

    1. Glad you found it helpful. :) Also glad you're enjoying your Triton!

      Happy vaping!

  9. I am from Europe and Halo is not available here (except some of their e-juices in some webshops in the UK) so I had to order directly from the US. I am so glad I did. Even with the $40 shipping expenses and €40 customs duty (my order was around $220) I enjoy vaping with the Triton kit so much! I own some G6 hardware as well but since I have the Triton I do not use the G6 anymore.

    1. That's so awesome to hear Pianoman. It's good to know that folks across the pond are enjoying it as well. :) I've often wondered how many people outside the US vape with Halo products. Turns out there's quite a few.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment and share your experiences. Take care and be well.

    2. I just received my Triton tank starter kit and love it. Not sure what to do with this cone, though

    3. Hi anonymous. The cone is for use with the cartomizers (cartridges). Basically, it just screws on over the cartomizer to give your Triton a more sophisticated and streamlined look.

But if you only use the Triton tanks (clearomizers), like most vapers do, then the cone has no actual use. So yeah, don't worry about it. Mine has stayed in the case ever since the day I got it. :P

The Halo Triton tanks are so awesome that I don't know why anyone would even want to use a cartomizer to begin with. But I guess some do, which is why they include it in the starter kit.

  10. Anyone try the tank with 100% VG juice not from Halo? I love the Triton and the tank, but I think I'm burning out the coil, my juice is a very light blue color (blueberry), and after just 1 day of using the tank, I can see a yelowish residue dripping into the tank from the wick. I also filled a new tank with the same juice, and got the same result. Any feedback as to what I might be doing wrong?

    1. Hi anonymous. First off, what brand of e-liquid are you using? That might have something to do with it. But without having a good idea of what you're working with, it's hard to tell. Most likely, it's nothing to worry about. E-liquid does change color over time, which is normal.

In fact, e-liquids change color due to light, heat and oxygen (oxidation). Also, certain flavor compounds will react to nicotine and change color eventually. Nicotine is also light sensitive, and will yellow over time.

But since this is a rather quick color change (and coming from the wick), my guess is that it's just changing color due to it being heated. Again, probably nothing to worry about at all. I highly doubt you're burning out your coil (unless you're vaping it totally dry for a time!). I've used several different e-liquids and have yet to burn a coil with the Halo clearomizers.

So yeah, probably nothing to worry about. My guess it that your juice is just changing color due to it being heated. Anyway, just contact the e-juice vendor and ask then about it. They should know for sure. ;)

  11. HELLO! (it's another from across the pond, here! :)) I've recently purchased a Triton kit, and "DESPERATELY" awaiting its arrival, here in UK (also like a kid at Xmas!). However, I've been getting a bit nervous about whether there's any 'voltage' issue if charging the batteries through a laptop via USB (I realise I can't use the US wall adapter but I'm not very up on voltage conversions, if any, with a USB connection). "So" sorry if this is a ridiculous question, or if it's been asked before!

    1. Not a ridiculous question at all. ;) It'll work just fine. From Halo: "Simply plug the Triton USB Adapter into any USB port (including laptop or desktop computers) to charge."

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is an industry standard in the computer/electronics world. It was developed in order to standardize the connections of peripherals to computers, so they're the same there as they are here. ;)

    2. A little bit late but might be usefull for other europeans.

You can use the wall charger it's 110-220 volts, you only need a cheap 1€ adapter so it fits your wall outlet

    3. Hi firens. Thanks for verifying that. Cheers!

  12. Hello there! (from another across the pond! :)). I'm eagerly awaiting my first Triton Tank order from Halo... and I can't wait for it to arrive here in the UK. Your superb review above, and everyone's great comments on this site have made me even more confident about the choice I've made, so thank you all for sharing! In the meantime, while I'm waiting for my package to arrive, I have been wondering (worrying a little) about whether I'm going to have any issues with charging the Triton batteries over here? I've purchased the USB charger with my order, initially thinking it should be fine to charge through my laptop, but I'm a bit nervous about my seriously limited understanding of voltage conversions. My thoughts are - the Triton USB draws 5v to charge its batteries (and I think it's roughly the same for most USBs, universally?). My laptop input is only 19.5v, thanks to its adapter halting those wapping 240v we get here (so, not sure if 19.5v is fairly standard for a laptop, universally, or is that higher than a laptop in the US would draw?)... Ok, so you can see I'm getting no-where talking to myself about this! Please, please could someone offer me some sound knowlege about this stuff? :)

    1. Hi eeebee. I answered your question above just now (see above). But here's some more detailed info for you.. The set standard for USB port "output" is a maximum of 5 volts (according to my research). So as long as it's a standard USP port, it'll work just fine. The only real problem would be plugging something into your laptop's USB port that needs more power to power it than your laptop's power supply is capable of. But that's not the case here.

Anyway, I'm not a tech wizard, so if you want to know absolutely for sure, just email Halo and ask them. They're more than happy to help.

      Happy vaping!

PS: When you get your Triton, please share this page with others who are looking for an awesome e-cig. ;)

  13. I just got my kit in the mail but had also done some research ahead of time about it being a vGo so I ordered the kanger t3 bottom coil clearomizers vGo style to go with it so I could have a larger tank, they don't fit though! Any ideas??

    1. See if you can return the T3 tanks. Use the Triton tanks. They're top-notch. I've used mine for months with no leaks or coil problems and haven't need to replace a single one. Plus, they're top coil, so they give a warmer vape, which is better IMHO.

Sometimes, though the threading may be the same, the contact points can be set differently, which causes compatibility issues. But like you, I also see people on ecig forums saying they that are compatible. Possible scenarios: 1. They're mistaken. 2. Maybe Kanger changed their design. Or 3. Maybe you got T3 knockoffs that aren't identical to the real ones. Those are just my guesses.

Anyway, let me know how you make out. The good thing is that the kit comes with the Halo tanks, so you can still enjoy your Triton! :)

  14. Hi! I have the Triton starter kit and I absolutely love it! I have tried many different e-cigs but this is the first one that has actually helped me stop buying normal cigarettes! I actually prefer my Halo to them now. I have a question though, I was wondering if buying some Apollo liquid and using it in my Triton tank would cause any serious damage. I prefer Halo's flavors of liquids for the most part but Apollo has several flavors that are my favorite. Would using them damage the system in any way? If so, how would it damage it? Thank you so much for your time :)

    1. Hi mrtastylemonpastry. Glad to hear you're enjoying it so much. And congrats on getting off regular cigarettes!

And to answer your question...Yes, you can use any e-liquid with it. So no worries at all. :)

Btw, you might also want to check out NicQuid's e-liquid, as they have some really awesome flavors too.

  15. Hey everyone, im in new zealand and have had my triton starter kit about 3 weeks and my vv battery should be here any day now, highly recommend this product to anyone, I also picked up a u.s/nz adapter so I can plug straight into the hot point.

    1. Hi nzchippie. Glad you like it! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience here with everyone. :)

  16. Best Tank system hands down, I'm a vaper my self for about 10 months, after I started vaping never get back to traditional cigarretes. The Triton Tank is the best, no dripping at all, easy to fill and the eJuice variety they offers are for real smokers. Torque56, Tiki Juice, Freedom Juice, Long Horn, Malibu and Kingle Curse are my choice. Nice review, real objective.... PS, sorry for my English, just learning the language at this moment.... I bookmarked your page... Keep it comming

    1. Thanks for your comment Alexis! So glad you love your Halo Triton. :)

      Happy vaping!
